The Weekend Plan - It's the Boxing Day post!
Something random, I was wondering why 26th December is called Boxing Day and bingo! Called a wild guess and found out from my friends that it's called Boxing Day because you 'unbox' your presents on this day hence the name. The link's kind of weak but never mind...
It's a drive up to JB on Boxing Day courtesy of Jinchuan and Wanyi. Although the initial plan was even better - up to Genting, logistical and $$ issues shelved the idea and so here we are at Tebrau City, JB. Yup, JUSCO!
The mini jam at the checkpoint was never going to deter us from getting out of Singapore for a short 'overseas trip'.
I'm at Jusco again!
The much lousier Tesco..a boring mall.
Lunch is at Nando's which serves pretty delicious chicken but in awfully small portions - it's priced at SG rates too. No good...(Nando's Extra Hot Peri-Peri Sauce is superb by the way!)
Nando's chicken. Now you see it...
Now you don't!
Bags down and we're on to the hypermart track!
This is KB, Jinchuan & Wanyi at the hypermart where just about everything is cheaper than in Singapore. A couple of pointers though - you can't bring oil and rice back to SG and...Don't buy the instant noodles! The instant noodles are pricier than in SG!
The layout for the fruits and vegetable sections' pretty cool and so are the snacks!

Done with hypermart shopping, Jinchuan drove us to the popular zi-char restaurant at Hotel Sentosa (it's opposite The Store and apparently it's supposed to be famous so a taxi ride should get you there!)
The restaurant's signboard - Erm... I'm not sure if Sin Kimdo's the name of the restaurant, doesn't sound like one though.
Hotdogs, long beans and I'm not sure what..it tastes nice anyway!
This is flattened chicken meat on satay sticks.
This drink's recommended by Wanyi and it's called 'Buah-long-long'! No kidding! That's the name of this concoction. We figured out the plum and green apple in it but not the rest of stuff that makes up 'Buah-long-long' Lol remember the name..'Buah-long-long'...It tastes good and is thirst quenching. Nice...
We ordered 老鼠粉 as well and a couple more dishes and all in all, it was an affordable and fulfilling dinner and an enjoyable trip to JB to end off my Sunday-cum-Boxing Day!
Just a little more info to add, besides driving to Tebrau City (where JUSCO is), there are a couple public buses from City Square that bring you there. It's not easy to guide you here and really, ask the locals at City Square and you'll get there. Well, at least that's what I did previously!
